It was just before midnight when flames engulfed the terrace level of this four-story condominium building, displacing approximately 50 residents. The fire spread quickly and intensely due to the 1960’s era construction which included wood balconies and no sprinkler system.
The fire was extinguished by the next afternoon, having damaged parts of the roof and exterior brick and leaving 15 units completely destroyed.
Additionally, there there were damages to the building next door.
The building was deemed structurally compromised and Minkoff was called in to stabilize the building and prevent further damage.
Due to the rapid response, Minkoff was able to return a large number of residents to their homes in a short period of time. Full scale reconstruction on the most heavily damaged units commenced quickly and was completed over the course of the next 10 months.
