A fire sparked at one of the garden-style buildings at the Honey Tree Apartments and flames quickly spread throughout all three stories and climbed into the roof. Twelve units were severely damaged. The fire was thought to have started in the laundry room due to faulty equipment or possibly worn electrical wiring. It took multiple fire and rescue crews approximately five hours to contain the blaze.
Minkoff was called in immediately to secure the property. The building was shored for safety and protected by a temporary roof until a comprehensive assessment of the damages could be made.
Within just several weeks Minkoff commenced complete reconstruction. Due to the rapid response, the lesser damaged units were brought back online within weeks. Reconstruction of the most damaged areas was completed over the course of the next several months.
